After meeting the costumer, we took his idea for the deck project and after a few drafts, we got it all figured out. We built a platform deck or standoff deck. It means that the deck is not attached to the house. This project has 27 footings and the deck is dived in three areas. 1st area is 20 x 20, 2nd 17 x 22 and 3rd 13 x 10 total of 970 square feet. Azek decking and Azek railing trademark that got selected were the costumer's choice. And for the remaining sections such as rises and fascia we used Azek trim board PVC composite material. The entire frame was done in Pressure Treated wood and we used Z Max galvanized metal for all the sections of the deck. We can definitely say that this is a maintenance free deck.

This is a deck project in Boston/MA. Victorian houses are defiantly a challenge, specially when the existing deck of it has no footings. After figuring it out, we took the decision of black the existing slab and dig a hole that is 5’ deep to set the big foot and the footing in place. It is the crucial part of the project because the footing will carry all the load. After the footings were in place and filled up with concrete, the construction took place. All the frame was done with pressure treated wood and railings were done in cedar. For decking, we have to use a very good king of wood. For the final touch, all the PT posts were wrapped with Kleer trim board or PVC composite material.
